Okay, I've got a little problem with the whole - We're Here For You, Jason - youth pastor trial. I'm all for people having an opinion, either pro or con, regarding the guilt of this man, but the way that some of his sheep have been acting is enough to make me physically ill.
The bottom line, sheep, is this: The man has been found guilty by 12 of his peers. He has been through a trial. The jurors have seen and heard the evidence and made their decision based upon that evidence. What more do you want? Making up excuses over and over for this mans actions just shows that, regardless of what this man has done, you'll blindly follow him over the edge of a cliff. There have been threats made by you (members of the church, not necessarily YOU in particular) to others who believe him guilty, the victim has been harassed in a manner akin to schoolyard bullying (including visits from friendly parishioners to her place of work that included yelling and screaming vulgarities) and the outright obnoxious and self-righteous condemnation of anyone who believes this youth pastor used his position of power to take advantage of a child.
Is this how adults behave? Is this how Christians are supposed to behave? Is this the way your church teaches you to behave? Does your church condone this behavior?
Apparently so. It's no wonder the people in the community of Canton often refer to your church as a cult. You certainly act as though it is. I'd be ashamed, very ashamed. Once you come out of your kool-aid induced trance, you may want to consider taking a few minutes between yourselves and God and asking for forgiveness for your behavior.
I believe he's guilty. Got no problem with that. If you don't, that's just dandy too, but act like adults...or you might even try acting like Christians, when you voice your opinions.
Don't like my opinion? Deal with it, but I'm ready to listen to yours...uncensored, by the way.
